Bala “Dr. Vish” Viswanathan, M.D.

Dr. Vish earned his medical degree at Stanley Medical College, Madras University, in India.

He completed his surgical residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. Dr. Vish went on to complete two fellowships in Surgical Research and Cardiothoracic Surgery in the same institution.

It is noteworthy that Long Island Jewish Medical Center is one of the early adopters of breast conservation surgery in the United States.

He is a Diplomate of The American Board of Surgery (Board Certified) since 1984. Dr. Vish has been in private practice in San Antonio, Texas since 1985.

He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Bexar County Medical Society, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
